That's sata, just because the cable it blue and the plugs are red, doesn't mean it's not sata.

So you can plpug that into your rig and you'll be able to retreave the data off it.

I'm assuming your power supply does not have a SATA power connection, right? You need one of these. Does your motherboard have a SATA port? It would look like this (the blue ports).
 
Thanks for the replies! My motherboard does have a SATA port but does not have the right power connection. That does look like what i need! thanks a lot!
 
You don't have to get the power converter from newegg - I used that as a point of reference. See if you can find one at a local computer shop. You'll save money on the shipping fee. :)
