Extreme lag

Today my internet started to act weird after a while the internet is soooo slow and i cant get nto any server's becasue of my ping and if i do its around 400. I dont know whats happened as it is usually fine. I though it may be spyware so i have run AVG spyware and AVG virus aswell as Crap cleaner and regcure / registry mechanic. But it is still painfully slow and unusable in games.

Anyone know what to do?

Wait a day or call your ISP? I've had days when my internet basically stopped or was at an almost complete standstill. However, the modem was still connected.
 
I first thought it may be the router / modem overheating so i stuck it in freezer for a sec but this hasnt worked. Il see what its like tomorow - also my system seems to be lagging to like loading windows even though i have noithing set to start up in msconfig and on the windows boot screen. ll after i changed mouse to a USB one
 
Well...seeing as you have a router, is it safe to assume there are other computers on the network? Have you pinged anything using them? Just to eliminate the router/modem/ISP...
