Hey guys, lemme start off by saying this is for my brothers computer.
He has NEVER had a good DVD drive. they always break after a certain time, or they just dont work... i really think he has a jinx on his DVD drives...
now, here is the problem
I built him a Core i5 system, 4 Gigs Corsair RAM, MSi P55 mobo, Corsair 550W PSU, Seagate 7200.12 500Gb HDD, and a Lite-On DVD drive.
Now, I installed windows 7 with no problems, including CoD4 etc
Now, The DVD drive is recognized in windows, the drivers are installed properly, but he cant read or burn any CD/DVD's (including CoD4)
I tried deleting the old drivers, and restatring, it installed correct but nothing.
I tried changing SATA cable, nothing
I put my DVD writer in his PC and i got the same problem (and mine works!!!)
I tried putting it in all 8 SATA ports on the mobo, but still nothing...
Have any of you heard about this, or even possibly have a solution?
as i say, its recognised, but just doesnt work...
thanks Guys.
