extrernal dvd rewritable drive

My external drive worked great with windows xp but since I added windows 7 I can't burn any dvds. Is this possible? I added all the latest updates if any.

What program do you use to burn with it? Have you made sure it's fully compatible with 7?

I used convertxtodvd 3.58. Compatible I don't know. Went on emprex.com but could not find anything on my unit (emprex dvd +- r/rw writer 8x external usb 2.0 drive)

The software's website says that it is compatible with both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7. Your problem may be in the firmware of the drive itself, and a simple patch should take care of that problem.

Are the problems just with this program or anytime you try and burn? I always use DeepBurner Free and it works great for me.

Also, how does the drive show up? Does it show up as a burner of any sort under Computer? How about within the software's burn settings?
