I bought a PC in Spain and asked Acer to send my CD´s so that I can restore my laptop to an english version. First off they sent me spanish discs and following their instructions I was able to restore everything. However now that they have sent me the correct English discs I cannot get the PC to boot from the bootable disc.
These are the instructions that they sent me.
Restore procedure:
1. Press the power button to turn the system on.
2. Press F2 during the Power-On Self-Test (when the Acer logo is
displayed on screen after bootup) to enter BIOS Setup.
3. Select the Boot menu.
4. Refer to onscreen instructions to set the first device to any
bootable optical disc drive.
5. Insert the System disc ( AS7720 SCD VHP32 Bootable Disc 1/1 ) into
the selected optical disc drive.
6. Select Exit Saving Change
s from the Exit menu or press F10.
7. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation
process. Insert the Recovery disc when prompted ( AS7720 RCD VHP32AT
Spanish Disc 1/2 + 2/2 ).
8. When you finish the recovery process, please remove the Recovery
disc20and insert the System disc again.
9. Restart your computer. Windows® installation will finish.
I can access the boot menu and I have highlighted CD-rom and used F6 to move it up to my first choice. I have put the bootable disc into my CD rom drive and I have saved and exited. It ignores the boot disc and just takes me into windows. Please can anyone help me before I have a nervous breakdown.
