i just move my hp computer into a new case, now everything was going fine until it gets past the bios screen then i get a screen like this

ERROR: System Fan Has Failed!
service PC to prevent damage to the system
press <F2> to continue

pressing F2 loads the desktop like normal, but i keep getting this all the time at startup, i checked all wires and all the fans, everything running fine, but i get this!

any ideas?!

Sounds like the CPU fan's not hooked up right. When you turn on the computer take a look inside and see if it's running. :)

unfortuantly i don't have access to another cpu fan, but are you sure its the cpu fan? i suspect its some kinda mobo trickery by hp!!

Be sure it's not being slowed down by something else, like some cool and quiet deal. My old Abit and Arctic Cooler I had didn't like each other :P Many times it'd let the fan spin too slow and set off an alarm. Realize the fan's max speed was 2200RPMs.

It shoudn't be too hard to just get a new fan(probably a 60mm) and replace the one on the heatsync.
