Fan connection?

I have two new 80mm fans I purchased for my computer, called Blue-eye by Thermaltake, pin:a1640. Now, i connected 3 fans (these 2 plus another on my case) to the power supply (this shouldnt be a problem right, piggy backing cause they all have an extra extension on the power cord?). These two thermaltake fans have another wire i havent seen before, a 2-pin female connector (red +, and a black - wire). The manual says "remove the HDD LED connector from the M/B. Connect the 2-pin female connector to the HDD position on the M/B. Seems that this is for lighting, but i dont know of any Led connectors on my m/b, and anyway, shouldnt the lighting just work through the power supply connection?

Computer fans generally run on a 12V supply, so you should be ok taking off the 2 pin connector and putting on either a 3 pin fan connector or a 4 pin male hard drive connector. (make sure the fan is 12V before you do this, and make sure that you connect the wires to the right pins on whatever connector you put on it). I've done this on my computer, and it works fine.

The HDD connector is there to let the color of the fan's lights change with respect to the HDD activity
