I took out these little black chips from the fans in order to turn off the little led lights. Can something happen to the fan..set on fire...etc? Should i put electrical tape around the spot where the chip was?
only thing i can think of is possible arcing (even though this isnt enough voltage), or if a bare wire touched both posts it could get red hot and possible melt something. just put some tape on it, just to be safe.
