Fan problem

Just got done with my build, and only one problem. The side fan doesn't work when I turn on the computer.

Simple, right? Dead fan. Well, I give it a spin, kinda like an old propeller plane, and it starts up. But also, when I turn off the LEDs, the other two fan's LEDs turns off, but this one doesn't. Any ideas?

Was it plugged into a header on the motherboard before? If so, make sure it is set to full power/speed in the BIOS, otherwise it might not spin. Some fans need a certain amount of voltage before they spin. The scythe gentle typhoons being one, they need 7v otherwise they just won't spin. A molex connector solves this problem because it gives 12v to the fan.

No it wasn't plugged into anything before. No options in BIOS for it. I first had it plugged into the connectors with the fan controller that came with the case. That didn't work, so I plugged it directly into the PSU, and still nothing. I even tried different connectors on the PSU and a different rail, and still nothing. I sent an email to Coolermaster, so hopefully they'll respond. Still don't know why it doesn't work until I spin it up. Think its caught on something and won't spin right away.

switch it out with one of the other two fans and see if it does the same thing. If it does then its a dead fan.

if its not spinning off the PSU's power output, id say you got a whimpy fan, i had a issue with my cpu fan but it was in a fan header, with a four pin output, and if it was not set to pwm, it would not spin up, however if it was set to pwm it would spin up fine... is it a 4 pin fan?

Yeah, its 4 pin. And it hasn't done it for a couple days now. I don't know what the problem is, but nothing I'm too concerned about.
