I am new to computer building and am recently having some computer fan questions I know that the cpu fan 4 pin in my mobo is hooked to the cpu heatsink fan but my motherboard has 2 other 3 pin fan connections labeled sys fan and pwr fan was kinda confused about these i have 4 fans + cpu fan but they all are the larger molex 4 pin connectors. My question is this is there and adapter or something that u can convert 4 pin molex connectors to small 3 pin connections on motherboard and if so what determines the fan speed is it controlled by the mother board or what and if it is advised to just get a good fan controller thx in advance to any answers and/or advice

speedfan - dl this program.
mobo - if its new then gud.
buy fans with the connectors you want - better than buying adaptors.
i prefer mobo to molex, since it is easier to adjust fan speed.
fan speed is dependent on the voltage, which can be changed on a mobo using speedfan, or using a hack with molex more commonly called a resistor.

You can also rewire the molex for the fan so that instead of the default 12V, it receives 5V and thus runs slower.
