Fan still runs in sleep mode

New Member
My old pc would go completely silent when it went to sleep but my new one keeps running its fans when it goes to sleep. I have windows 7, had xp before in my old one. Is that normal or is there a setting that will quiet the pc down when it goes to sleep?
 
Just tried sleep with my computer now (also win7) and it turned the screen off and then a few seconds later everything went off, all fans an everything. Then just tapped a key to resume.

How long did you wait before resuming? the fans dont go off instantly.
 
Have you plugged your fans straight into the power supply?

If so, the computer can't shut then off because it isn't directly controlling them.
