I upgraded my GPU a while back from a XFX GTX260 BE to a XFX HD5850 BE well I had to lol. But from using the new card my Far Cry 2 keeps exiting to the desktop after abt a hour no errors nothing. Im running Win7 ultm 64bit with up tp date drivers 10.4 It seems like the new drivers are bit slower as well from the 10.3 version. Can anyone help pls. I hear a hotfix migt work but I cant find any.

Check your even viewer for errors. Perhaps even clear all the logs before you begin playing so you have less to rummage through.

I looked at the event viewer and couldnt find anything related to Far Cry crashing, or I must be looking at the wrong place in the viewer. Should I be ;looking for sumthing specific....

Far Cry 2 is very buggy. best you can do is reinstall drivers and reinstall/update the game.

Use catalyst install manager to uninstall your current drivers and then use it again to install the new ones.

Try starting a new game (I know it's a pain having to sit through that cutscene :P) and see if the problem ensues. I'm certain that corrupted saves have caused similar issues for me with this game.

Eventually i sold it because i was sick of it being my problem anymore :o

ive tried a few things by now. and the saves was one. ive even dnld new ones, this just seems like a graphics fault, it lags and the few in distance flickers then it crashes. So I doubt it can be the saves. and this is my second time starting from the beginning.

^ In that case try driver sweeper, but only to remove nvidia drivers... don't use it if you plan on upgrading your ati ones, makes things worse. (knowledge that came from my own stupidity :()
