Ubisoft recently confirmed that SecuROM will be included with Far Cry 2, limiting consumers to a maximum of 5 activations on 3 systems. Uninstallation 'refunds' an activation as long as the game is properly uninstalled. Further activations can be gained by contacting Ubisoft. The inclusion of this DRM has sparked some concern (as well as some statements of intentions to boycott the game) from potential consumers opposed to Ubisoft's attempt to control the way their product is used, the alleged potential negative side effects of SecuROM on users' systems, and the possible need to inform Ubisoft when users upgrade their own machine in order to reactivate the game.
