fast help please. disc wont read on drive

i pop in many discs and all dont read. after i pop in... went to computer... click on the drive.... then it says prepare burn format.... whyt it says that?

i finally click ok so now it says formatted. so i pop in disc again went to drive.... nothing is there! empty!
