Fasted broadband speed you can get?

I was watching BBC Breakfast about 2 or 3 weeks ago some guy from a company i can't recall said they were on there way to making 50meg ones, with 100meg in the not to distant future!
 
They have OC connections which ISP's and huge corporations use, which reach around 140Gb/s or faster.
 
Rumor has it that Time Warner's actually going to REDUCE their residential bandwidth, and start using a content compression scheme to make up the difference in speed :(
 
im only getting 8meg at the moment (fastest in area at the mo)

was thinking of going through satalite cable companys for mega speeds but decided to wait til prices drop
 
I have the fastest in RI, 15meg. But I need to cal Cox cause this isn't running at that speed.

Plenty of ISP's offer at least 100/100 solutions, I'd get it here but it costs $50 or more per month. I'm on 10/10 fiber and I pay $18 per month atm.
