faster DVD-ROM or GeForce 6200

Could I add an XFX GeForce 6200 256MB AGP 8x graphics card without doing anything to the GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU (64MB) craphics card, it doesn't take up a AGP slot, it's built on the mother board.

I just got Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and the graphics card has too little memory, or just really bad, it's not that I don't have enough RAM; I have 1.18 GB of RAM. The problem might also be that the DVD drive I got doesn't have DVD-ROM put on it, the game works fine when there is not a lot of people and cars on. It lags REALLY bad when I shoot, that might be a graphics card problem.

So, should I get a good DVD drive with DVD-ROM at least 32x or get the GeForce 6200, and if I should get the graphics card, do I have to do anything with the Integrated graphics card already on there?

Thanks,

The new video card would be the best choice. The game wouldnt be lagging only in certain spots because of your DVD Drive, since the game doesnt actually run off of it, it runs off the hard drive.

You may need/want to disable the integrated video after installing the new card, that way you dont have to worry about conflicts and you wont be wasting system memory.

There should be a BIOS option to do so.

EDIT: The 6200 is a pretty bad GPU-you have a 40-50$ budget? An ATI 9-series card may be better.

What do I go to exactly to disable it? would it be under Integrated Peripherals or what?

EDIT: the graphics card I'm getting is bad? I don't have much money... What's a good one for $40-$50?

When I replaced the video card on my compaq, the integrated graphics disabled itself. I second the motion on the 9800, 6200 is crap
