Faster HDD

question a friend put to me that i thought i would throw out there (UK based)

simple question, but where can they be found? ive currently got an asus pro motherboard that will also support pci-x cards (SCSI) but if i did buy 2 large and fast scsi drives (15k spin) would a raid0 really go that much faster than 2 sata-2 3.0 drives in an identical raid ?

Ive got a 36gig WD raptor, whilst i would say it is indeed faster than a standard drive, its still sata-i 1.5, so how does it all measure up ????

all this has come up with my adobe video editing. i noticed that while rendering and producing the final DVD, the hard drive was going like the clappers, yet looking at the task manager, the quad core cpu under the bonnet was running at a mere 30%, quite simply the HD is not fast enough.

the where to find isnt an issue, just wondered if i could get some good input on a comparison of all of these drive types. As stated is the difference significant enough to warrant it. Is there an other way to go. Some facts and figures rather than just a "RAPTOR FTW" would be nice :)
