I'm confused please can some kind soul enlighten me. I have search on the internet for hours trying to find an answer but sometime its easier to just ask your own question..

I want to get another harddrive..to store all my HD footage//pics on. I was going to plum for the usual WD Green 500mbytes? type...but now im not so sure...any recommendations? What should i be looking out for? Faster drives?

Thank you Stranglehold for your quick reply. I take it you know you beans and onions in regard to computers.

SO - if i bought a £60 green WD HD for example..stuck it in...and then downloaded all photos/HD video onto it...that would work fine?

I would then..save to a disc..to keep in case i lose any data etc...simple enough to save HD footage to a regular disc? best if i used a new USB3 cable?

Im in a position to purchase the odd update/new programme..any recommendations that will give me better, long lasting quality if i store to disc? what disc would you use to store?

Yes that will work fine.

When you say I would then..save to a disc and long lasting quality if i store to disc? what disc would you use to store? What do you mean by Disc as in like another harddrive.

Seagate barracuda with 7200 RPM with 500 GB capacity will be more than enough for you:
