probably some form of fibre wire but i think a techioe term for it is OC3. It goes up like this (or something like this):

The OC3 one is like upto 80Mb/s (yes i actually mean MB/s not Mbps) in both directions, up and down. Kick some ass with that eh??

1. Should really check the numbers before you post them ... fudging numbers never a good idea
2. Also, 2MBit DSL/Cable and T1 are contestable ... DSL/Cable may have better download performance but T1 will have better upload performance.
OC-1 = 51.85 Mbps
OC-3 = 155.52 Mbps
OC-12 = 622.08 Mbps
OC-24 = 1.244 Gbps
OC-48 = 2.488 Gbps
OC-192 = 9.952 Gbps
OC-255 = 13.21 Gbps

for fast cable i have comcast and am getting 10 mbps on a direct line. on mine my connection is 3 mbps because its wirless with low signal and 11mbps connection speed.
