I have a external drive that I am trying to set up as fat32 and I am running windows xp, please help???

Also I have some data that I want to save on this external hard drive before I reformat, and my computer is not seeing the drive within the bios, can anyone help with this?

Thanks

is it formatted???

have your tired a different USB (take it that is how you are connecting it).....??

you can used partition magic for format partition what you install windows

your hdd is so bad sector ,i think you can't rescue it , recommend you buy a new hdd

Copy the contents of the HD over to your computer, format as FAT32 and copy the files back, and presto.

Your BIOS doesn't need to see the drive, as long as your OS can detect the drive you should be good. If your OS installation is bad, do it on another computer or get a LiveCD Linux distro.
