faulty graphics

I've got a Ubuntu computer and it works fine but the monitor keeps flashing on and off. I don't know if it's the GPU or the monitor or something else.]

Please could someone advise me to what the problem is and how to fix it.

PS i've tried the monitor on another PC and it still did it but not as frequently.

If the monitor did it on another computer then you have already discovered your problem. You need a new monitor.

You need a new monitor.

...or a new VGA or DVI cable. I'd try using a different VGA or DVI cable if you can before you go and buy a new monitor, it could be the cable is bad.

cables are cheaper than monitors
