Brand? AMD because they are cheap and fast. Intel will outperform in most windows/desktop apps, but will, you can't beat the price of an AMD!

Actual model... AMD Athlon 64. I have a 4000+, but I don't know how the FX or X2 series work...

Yeh i agree, AMD will kill in gaming and alot of desktop programs, intel outperform in media applications like video editing, but there far to expensive.
