Feedback on Build

haha im new at building a computer (this will be my first build) and i've read thru all of them guides in this forum. i've also taken some ideas from other threads for parts and this is wut i've come up with. the budget is around 800-900. ill be using the computer for gaming and simple things like schoolwork email. just need feedback or criticism on my build for like incompatibilities or things like not a good enough PSU. Basically any suggestions would help. Thx a bunch.

PSU - look at around 650W or so... post something and we'll see if that is alright..

thx again. i just went back to the post that i took ideas from and realised it was you haha.

will i be needing anything else other than the parts above? i know i'll need a cpu fan and an OS. is there anythign else other than those?
and also is there a difference for cpu fans? or will a 30 dollar one work just as well.

Well there is the processor where a fan comes with it, but you can get a better one, as far as a fan goes, probably check with us and we'll give you our opnion on it....

Otherwise you won't need anything else....

Unless you want a good sound card :P

thx! i dont think ill be doing any overclocking. i dont have any knowledge in that area, i'd rather not risk it yet haha.

i wouldnt care but i have 2 fans for the q6600 next to me not being used

ohh alright. it said on tigerdirect specifications that the CPU doesnt include a fan. that's why i was searching for one :P

not a problem!!!

just make sure there is either a little packet of thermal grease or a thermal pad on bottom of your heatsink befor you install it!!

you need the thermal paste to help make contact with the 2 componants to transfere the heat from the proccessor to the heatsink :)
 
okayy. thx for the heads up

do the thermal packets/paste/pad come w/ the cooler?

nvm...i assume the white patch at the bottom of the heatsink on the pic is the thermal pad. =P
