Feedback on laptop?

The first one is no better. The second appears to be, but I need it to be as close to 500 (with tax) as possible, and it needs to be able to be hackintoshable, which some stuff won't work for. For example, I don't believe that video card is supported.

not sure what hackintosh is and unless in california, and maybe tenessee and new jersey, then there is no tax on newegg as interstate sales online aren't taxed thanks to laws, that's a first.

I didn't know there is no tax. That's awesome. And it can't be discussed, but just know I need it to basically fit in certain requirements.

Basically I need an i3 or i5 and then either the HD 3000 or most nVidia GeForce, excluding the 4xxx's I think.

well if you have to do that stuff then just go with the one on the left i posted earlier, both are plenty fast and all, but overall the one on the right is better, but if you can't use it the performance isn't going to be much worse, in unthreaded or only double threaded programs the i3 will be faster, which that is the majority of things actually.

well other than hp has horrable support, and other than that the only diff between the one on the left and your new pick is yours has a slightly faster ram and hdd speed, but idk if it's worth 15, and i also dk bout acer's support, but both will work perfectly fine and all.

Alright thanks. I don't think that I'll really need support, so not a big deal. What does everyone else think? I know hp isn't good for some laptops, but are their probooks alright?

Guys sorry to bump. But I am about to get it. So could I get feedback on the reputation of HP Probooks? Are they good quality?

Also, because of bloatware, is there a way for me to get a reinstall disc?

idk bout the disk, but just google the probooks, if they suck it's gunna be right there on google or bing or whatever.

the probooks are pretty good quality. Right up there with with the quality of dells old D630 series (just a quality comparison). However, 2 things to note. 1. HP support is ok, but be prepared to be on the phone for hours if you need them. 2. Be prepared for a lot of useless HP software on there (my DV7 had no less than 7 HP branded programs loaded when I got it.) 3. there will be give in the keyboard. This seems to be an HP laptop thing (goes back years. ZE5200 had this problem way back in '02). It doesnt bother most people, but it makes the computer seem flimsy to me.

and to answer your 64 bit CPU question. Yes. All after the P4 600 series for intel, and Athlon 64 for AMD are 64 bit CPU. But you need to be sure that your BIOS supports 64 bit also (most newer ones do).

Awesome. Thanks. Support I don't count on needing. I'll probably do a fresh install anyways to lose the programs, or uninstall them. How can I get a copy of a recovery cd or something so I can reinstall the Windows 7? The keyboard I can deal with. My mom's hp and my dads keyboards don't bother me.

And alright, considering the new one I put has a 64 bit OS I will just assume so.
