Hi all,

This question is a mixture of both Motherboard and Cpu so i ask in here.

This is probably what im going to buy soon

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM

and

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

my question is,i plan on overclocking the Q6600 OR Q6700 whatever i get depending on Intels price reduction, but will i need better cooling for my chipsets on the Motherboard if i take the Quad to 3.5-3.6Ghz?

they are only heatsinked,no fans.

also do you think i will be able to rech 3.6Ghz? i currently have my e6300 at 2.7Ghz but if i go higher my 667mhz ram craps out and i get errors in orthos hense the reason im replacing it with 800.

thanks guys :)

I have a Q9450 quad which is clocked at 3.5 at the moment and the only cooling that I have is a Zalman 9700 and 5 120mm case fans. My system is running stable . If I try to go beyond 3.5 I have issues but it's with my motherboard , not heat. That's why I'm looking into getting a new P45 mobo.
