File Extensions

I took my computer into a computer shop becasue of freezing problems, i got it back and they have done something so that it now shows all files with the extension. instead of the old eg. "Linkin Park - Numb" it now reads "Linkin Park - Numb.mp3" and the same with "homework.doc" it now shows the extension on all files...i want it gone anyone know how?

Click 'tools' in any folder, then select 'folder options'

in the view tab, untick the check box that says 'hide extentions'
