File View

When I use windows explorer my files and folders are always in the the "tile" view. How can I change it to list or detail view and have it stay that way?

right click in folder > view > list, icons, tile, etc

I know how to change the view options. How to I set a specific view as default?

I'm pretty sure you can do that in Folder Options in the Control Panel.

From the menu in Explorer
Tools/Folder Options/View and under Folder Views click Apply to all Folders. Obviously you change the appearance of your particular view in the parent directory before doing this and then it will apply throughout.
