Files not showing in External Harddrive

I have a Western Digital My book, 1TB, and i have it hooked up to my macbook pro. It worked fine before, all the files where there and ran no problem. But for some reason, none of the files are showing in the folders in my external hard drive... when i right click and get info, it says the folder has a certain amount of files and tells me the amount of gbs it is taking up...But there are no files in the folder for me to click on....
any help would be appreciated!!!

Are they hidden files? Also, its possible that you have to take ownership of the folder they are in. Look here...

weird..I booted the hard drive into windows and the files showed, when i hooked it back into my mac, they files showed up again. Thanks for your help john35, i appreciate it a lot man!

If in doubt always reboot your equipment. Rebooting can save you time and money!
