If i have many files on my desktop could this slow done the performance of my computer? i was told this and wonder if its true.

Thanks

Not that i know of!

EDIT: Actually i just found this:
"Excessive desktop icons and desktop wallpaper take up their share of system memory and CPU usage. Keep them to a minimum or avoid them altogether."

Like it says....excessive, but this would just depend on how good your computer is.

now people uses the 6 mega pixel cameras and when they take a pic they put it on the background. it slows down the computer. the best wallpapers are the sold colors and the images with not a high resolution like the Windows it self wallpapers.
about the icon:
i actually have just my D:\ , firefox, iTunes. and the recycle bin.
if you have just shorcuts then its ok but no big files download from internet like .rar and exe files.

Because it takes up system memory and cpu resources to display the image(s). Therefore the higher resolution and colour the picture/icon is the more resources it'll need.
