Had an issue with a Seagate 2TB drive where upon boot I got some error message about the MFT and then the files weren't visible though the system indicated how much of the drive was used vs how much was available.
Stayed this way through a couple of boot cycles.
I ran Recuva only to see what files it saw. It showed the names of the files but I never got to the point of actually telling it I want to recover the files since I had to leave and wanted to wait until I had more time to devote to it.
Now when I boot the files are visible again. Tried a large sampling - they're mostly video files, and they all play fine.
Could have simply viewed the disk with Recuva have fixed the issue?
