This is my first build and I just want to make sure if everything is compatable? My budget is 1000 and this is what I am planing to buy

Its for school,surfing the web @ a highspeed myspace:), playing games here and there, grafix design, want to be able to run a lot of programs at the same time thats why I want with the x2
 
SLI is putting 2 of the same graphics card into one computer. Theroretically doubles the power, but really doesn't. you need an SLI motherboard in order to SLI.
 
That looks good, only a couple things I would change. Since your not doing anything extreme, I would change the motherboard to the cheaper ASUS A8R-MVP. Secondly I would get a 6800GS instead of that video card. Much better performance, plus it evens out because of the motherboard. Everything else looks fine.
