Hello everyone... here's the list of items that I'm purchasing. I'd like to do a quick once-over before I send in the order, so here it goes.

LITE-ON Black IDE Combo Drive

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 SATA 160gb 7200rpm HD
BenQ FP91G+ 19" 8ms LCD Monitor
ABIT KN8 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard
Antec TRUEPOWER II 380W PSU
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
XFX Geforce 7800GT 256mb
Patriot Signature Series 1gb (2x512mb)

TOTAL=1198.51

I'm going to be using the computer for gaming, schoolwork, etc. My budget is no more than $1200.

[EDIT] I will not be overclocking at all.

That looks pretty good, but I would put these items on the list for upgrade in the future, in this order:

1. more RAM, definitely as soon as you get the money to
2. secondary hard drive
3. bigger PSU
4. secondary optical drive

But that's just what I would do with the money after I bought pretty much exactly this set-up. (I might go with a little less on the chip, and use the money to get more RAM now...)

I think the Antec one will be fine, especially for the hardware that you have (not too demanding). I have 2 optical drives, 2 hard drives, a floppy and zip drive. All plugged into a 250 watt PSU. So, I think that will be fine for now, but when you start adding other hardware, look into a bigger PSU as well.

BTW, good to hear that more than just the gig of RAM's going to be in there :).

never heard of it either, but I'd suggest at least 450 especially with your video card and processor cause they'll be using a fair amount. I don't really know where you could shave a couple bucks, everything looks pretty good to me as it is. You could hold off on the ram for a while and then buy it later if you've got a gig already, it'll get you by for the time being or so.
