Final List of Parts for my Future (1st) build

Okay so here is the final parts list for a future (1st) build that I want to do once I get the money for it. My budget is around $1,000. And what I plan on using the computer for is some gaming, Minecraft, Skyrim, Left 4 Dead, and Total War and other games. I also plan on editing videos and using the internet.

For the cases I'm not sure which one will be able to hold all my parts in, and I might want to upgrade once more advanced items hit the market.

Disk Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

Which amount of memory do you think would be good for me?

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150505

Which do you think my system will need? I am willing to pay more if necessary, since I know that this is an important part.

Thanks for the help! And feel free to make any fixes/comments to items, and make any suggestions to the parts I have listed.

Even though you might upgrade when more advanced things come out, the mid tower should do fine, unless you plan on putting mulitple HDDs/SSDs.

^^ Would be my suggestion. Your parts should fit in it nicely.

The 4GB of RAM should do great for everything you need, but if you have the money, there's no hurt in getting the 8.

Also the Mb you've chosen doesn't have a standard memory of 1600, so I believe you might have to change it once you put your computer together.

Thanks for the help, I was thinking of the Mid sized tower, just didn't think that the graphics card would fit or not.

You could suggest another mother board that does have a standard memory of 1600, if you'd like to.

Try this memory

The Cas Latency on this one is 7 compared to the 9 you posted.
And Mushkins is a really good brand.

I would suggest the 600W PSU.
And for case try this

You will save some money and not that much of difference in dimensions between the HAF 922 and 912.

And with the money saved you can upgrade the GPU to an HD 6870

Noted on the ram, and Thanks for the help!

LOl...ouch...well, i like the specified board cuz it supports TRIPLE CROSSFIREX, IS FULL ATX, and is under $170...you dont know of any similar boards do you? ...im looking to upgrade... :)

The ASRock boards are fine, the high end ones anyway (that means the 880g extreme boards and higher, the extreme 870's only have a 4+1 power phase). You'll find on MSI, Asus and Gigabyte boards can have bad MOFSETs which means overclocking = dead motherboard.

Oh ok.Just that I have never heard good things about AsRock.

I agree the 880g Extreme is not a bad board for the price.

But I am at a loss with the above statement. About (all) ASrock boards use older style mosfets and lowerend MSI/Gigabyte/Asus does too. But most mid to upperend MSI/Gigabyte/Asus use Low RDS (on) mosfets or better, not Asrock. The statement is backwards.

Well I am generalising :) I did mean all lowend boards really. But yes, Low RDS (on) ones are better no matter the manufacturer

Here is the difference in looks.

Gigabyte Low RDS (on) Plus R80 chokes
