Now, I have been searching and trying out different stuff. Now I came to this build and I will pretty much buy it. I am spending around $1800, and this is what I got. So after you review them, vote 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) and tell me it's pros and cons.

Get the following items if they're within your budget:

HSF: Zalman 9700. The Rosewill Oscar recommended is OK, but the Zalman is way better.

HD: I'd recommend a second hard drive to backup your RAID array. Get this one: WD 500GB. Everything else looks great. I gave it an 8. Do you have a monitor?

Is there a such thing as a heat sink for the computer as a whole? I know that there's heat sinks for hardwares (chips) but is there 1 for the pc?

Thank you

I see people voting 5-10, but what are the pros and cons? Why is it a 5? why is it a 10? This build imo seems a solid 7.5/8 I would like other opinions.

Here's my pc accessories

I'd assume that people are voting low because of how much it costs. For 1800$ you could be running 8800GTS in SLI with a better processor and better RAM.

The Samsung DVD is crappy.. The case? Meh. RAID0? Don't you ever listen to what people that *know* what they're talking about tell you? If you did, you wouldn't even think of it. hehe

Other than that looks pretty cool

so then what should I do with the hard drive? What's wrong with the samsung dvd? has high ratings, and everyone says there good.

What mother board should I get then?

If I run 8800gts it'll cost more or make other hardware lower. Plus gt and gts is almost the same. I will get 9 series later on. Don't need 8800gts sli, imo it's useless.

That Samsung drive would be fine. Right now Samsung has some of the highest rated DVD burners going. The 203B version has been the DVD drive of choice for the last few months by the Maximum PC magazine.

I would just get 1 of the Raptor drives for your OS and programs, and a larger drive for everything else.

They're crap.. Junk. I can't stand them.

As an alternative, the Pioneer and Plextor (which has come way down in price) are far superior alternatives. Personally I use the Pioneers. I also have some LGs.. They're ok for the price, reliable and all, but I've had issues with some of their models.

See, I can't stand Pioneer drives! So it's really up to how a person feels. When it comes down to it, all of the different drives are about the same. One might be a little louder, but actually burn faster, or another might have faster access times. But they are all within a small percentage of each other.

I prefer Liteon drives, but that's just me. And for years Plextors were good drives, but way over priced for what you get. Now the prices of them have dropped, but I still like the liteons.

So what extra HD should I get? Seagate or WD?

What processor do you people recommend?

Both are excellent brands. I've never had a WD nor Seagate just fail on me/crash one me. Unless you could a 1994 1.1GB HDD that just froze a few weeks ago... :D

Whichever one has lower seek times, faster RPM, better interface (ATA vs SATA), and a larger buffer, and most importantly, price. If it's $20 more for 8MB more buffer...

What ata and sata? what's better?

Is having 2x raptors really that bad? Why are other people telling me it's a crazy combo? If I have my music/video/etc on my raptor as well, won't it play them a lot faster? 150gb is plenty imo.

However if it's not that great of a combo, then what top/end WD HD should I get? Perhaps a link would be nice.

Thank You
