Finally giving in.

I've finally decided to give in and have ordered Vista Home Premium 64bit. I've had a very much love hate relationship with windows, even spending 2 years running Linux, but gaming brought me back. Decided today that I need to get with the times, ditch XP and give Vista a bash as XP won't be around forever.

I've got OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 coming with my order to make sure I have enough memory and to ensure DX10 compliance and give gaming a boost in general an 8800GT 512MB.

I've got all my vista drivers lined up and the memory patch if I have to install it with 2GB, so hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Well, I just dual boot XP and linux on the main box. Linux for work and XP for games... And yes, XP is still ahead overall as a game box compared to linux or vista.

Xp will be around a loong while yet. Heck, people out there still run 98, and we remember how bad that was compared to XP. Now with XP sp2 you have a fairly reliable OS that people will stick with possibly longer than they did with 98...

Gamers are still having lots of vista issues, but YMMV...
