We moved this past weekend to a new city and got Comcast Xfinity as our ISP. My old ISP was charging me $138/month for a connection that peaked at 4Mbps. My first download test with Xfinity was 89Mbps and the monthly charge is only $45!

To be somewhat fair to the old ISP, we lived in a rural area and they were pretty much our only choice other than satellite, cellular or dialup.

Comcast/xfinity is great. They just increased the blast speed package from 50mb to 75mb for free. This is what I'm getting currently.

Not really worth upgrading to the 105mb package, even though it would only cost me $10 more a month.

I noticed this as well. They bumped up the 105 to 150, the 50 to 75, and so on. However upload speeds are half what they used to be. The 105/150 plan used to be 20Mbps upload, but now it's only 10Mbps upload.

Here's a test from this morning:

The download speed is definitely a winner but there seems to be some lag to it. Seems to take longer to move from website to website than on my old ISP even though the ping times are pretty much the same.
