i was looking at this board, does anyone know if its any good?
ASUS M3A AM2+ its only 100$shipped, and has a good memory standard.

if anyone can point out a better board thats upgradeable later on, for under 120$ shipped, that'd be great.

Yea I think it would be a good board, full 2600/5200 Hypertransport but limited to 1000/2000 with a AM2 processor, PCIe 2.0, support for DDR2 1066 but limited to DDR2 800 if you run a AM2 processor. They probable have a little less bios features than the 790 but unless your a extreme overclocker it doesnt really matter.

i wouldnt consider myself an EXTREME overclocker, but i do overclock untill the system crashes lol

Well, If your getting a AMD 64 X4 Phenom Processor, it is worth it. Otherwise any other AM2 processor could be used on just a regular AM2 board. If you get the Phenom, It;s probably worth it because it is AM2+ with DDR2 1066 memory standard, and it has a fast HT.
Are you getting DDR2 1066 RAM?

no i am making myself upgradeable to either a tri core or a quad core and faster ram down the road, the motherboard only has to be AM2+ because i want a little bit of future-proof ability... oh and i want to be able to overclock the ram im getting to something like 950MHZ, its A-Data extreme pc6400

ram compatibility? huh? i was under the impression that all 240pin ddr2 slots were going to work as long as they were at or below the standard speed?

g-skill huh? do they have any ram like the pqi and a compareable price? unfortunetely i can only use money i have onhand, so rebates arent gonna work.... :(
