As some of you know Ive been tryin to find the time to turn around my V8 HSF, cause the dumbass at the computer shop did it wrong...

Anyway me and my mate did it today and get this it turns out Ive been running my computer for a month or so with no thermal paste at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I put some Thermal Fusion 400 on it and mounted the V8 the right way...

And under load temps are down 25 degrees!!!! To only 34 -35 ish under full load...

Amazing...

Go to the shop and talk to the manager. Seriously if you don't even know better to use thermalpaste or to even put the fan on the right way you shouldn't be working on computers.

I would have gone mental and wouldnt have put any paste on but just took it back to the shop and demand that they supply free paste and a new processor or a bit of a refund because it could have made the life of the cpu shorter. Could you not even contact AMD and tell them the shop is doing this because it could mean they have more returned processors they are supplying to the shop? Sorry about my angry post but I have had so many problems with shops I think that building a system yourself is cheaper and even safer unless you go to someone like dell who charge way over the top.

Yeah the only reason I got them to do it at all is cause Ive never done an aftermarket cooler before and thought it would be "safer" to get a "professional" to do it.

Just checking.... I pulled it off and I saw nothing really. Like the metal was fully visable and everything..... thermal paste doesnt go invisable or anything?

The chip never went over 60 degrees so hopefully it should be sweet.... but yeah I will be paying them a visit....

Thermal paste wouldnt be invisible, it would be silver like as5, or white like ceramique.

Glad you got it the right way. No compound, get some money back or chew some butt.
