Finally!

Well, seeing as I had to use my birthday money for other things, my hopes for a computer were getting grim. But I just got a job at REI (an outdoorsy store full of awesome) But now I can finally build a computer, I'll be using it for some gaming, and word processing :P here's what I have, what do you think?

CPU: $250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037

Motherboard: $90

RAM: 2 of these $70

HDD: $80

Cooler: $53.99

Optical: $33

GPU and PSU I have no idea
everything else I have
Now I know that the CPU is out of stock, but I won't have the money for a little while (okay two months...still I can plan ahead right?)
Maximum of about $700-800 (preferably closer to 7)
Thanks

hm, okay, I may go with that hdd, I'm hoping prices on some of those may drop a bit in two months, any suggestions on GPU or PSU?

Edit: Oh, if I need that extra $35 I may drop half of that ram

How much you looking to spend for gpu and psu? I have an xfx 8600gt xxx zalman card which works good for me. I also got a ultra x-finity 600w psu which works good. I recommend an ultra.

That is a sweet build. For the PSU I would get either one of these:

- Rosewill RD600
- Corsair HX520/HX620
- OCZ GameXStream 700W/600W

As for the GPU, get either the HD3870, 9600GT or the 8800GTS (G92)

I'm thinking of going for the 8800gts
with that card, and the above specs, how big of a psu will I need?

how's this card look?

Edit: you said g92
so this one?

Think I'll scratch the cpu cooler for now. Money you know?

I have a couple more questions
Right now I just want to get a cheap case, just something to hold it, and I'll either mod it up myself or upgrade to a nicer one later
Also, total noob question how do I tell which PSU will work with which board

Edit: PSU?

Thanks ramodkk

hah hah total is now around 850 with shipping and rebates, that's okay though, just have to save a bit more of my paychecks, or work a bit longer.

I don't think theres a big difference between brands (except for that all famous step-up program from EVGA) so if we take into account the $35 rebate I would go with the Zotac. Also about the CPU cooler. Are you going to overclock your CPU? If not, you could as well skip the cooler for now and use the one that comes in the box.

And that's a pretty sweet PSU, go for it ;)

I just picked a card that looked decent at random, but I just googled them, and their reviews are pretty dang good.

How's all that look (2 of the rams)? Oh, and I was thinking about overclocking, but I'll wait until I have more money.

Thanks dude!

That is a sweet build my friend. All good parts IMO ;)

Do you need an OS?

AND THAT MOTHERBOARD IS THE BEST MOBO FOR THE PRICE

nuff said.

Nope, I don't need an OS, or a monitor, keyboard, or mouse, though, I still can't decide if I'll get a cheap case and upgrade later, or if I'll get a cheap case and mod it out.

Oh man, I might get the black Apollo, looks sweet, though it raises my shipping...a lot, I wonder if I can find it anywhere local. Also, would the firewire on the case work even though the mobo has no firewire?

Nope, that's one thing I'm missing out of my system (i have the NZXT apollo and that mobo) but again, I don't even know what it does!! :P

So it's cool

hah, yeah, googled it and found it way cheaper, though, no coolers on anything I found for cheaper on google, so it may not be worth it, I don't know.

Um, both of those parts are more expensive then mine, and the ram is not out of stock at all, and do I really need a 700w PSU? You sure you posted in the right place?

Edit: WOW, the Ram just dropped in price a lot!
