My Needs:
-forums
-going on internet, reading/researching
-MSN, email etc
-I don't play any games
-download music/videos
-listen to music/watch videos
-sharing files with friends
-not bringing it outside

I'm currently using a Sony VAIO VGC-RB50:

*Intel Pentium 4 Processor 640 (3.2 GHz) with Hyper-Threading Technology
* 2MB L2 Cache
* FSB - 800MHz
* 512MB of PC-3200 400MHz DDR SDRAM
* 250GB 7200RPM Serial ATA(TM) HDD
-with a cheap 15" screen.

I find the speed okay, and I actually find that the screen isn't that bad I find it sometimes slow, so I'm sticking with Dual-Core. I'm looking for any suggestions aside from the ones I currently have. The cheaper the better obviously. I have wifi at my house so it's probably best if the desktop/laptop has wifi too. I'm getting a new computer because this computer is not mine, so I have to give it up.

Budget: The cheaper the better. Probably nothing over $700
