Finding my safemode key...?

Hello all,

I recently had a problem with my computer. All is well now though! Anyway, when I was trying to fix my problem (couldn't log on) I had to open up in safe mode. The thing is, I didn't know what key to hit for safe mode. So, I ended up using a variety of space, f1, and f8 and after several attempts got into safe mode. Anyway, my question; how would one figure out what the safe mode "accessing" key is? Thanks.
 
the boot option key is usually F8, i no the computers ive tried, dells, Compaq, HP, all use the f8 key for boot options
 
Well, I have an ABS.

I did try f8, which was my last attempt, and it gave me something a little different than my combinations with f1 and space. f8 did end up having safe mode however. I was just wondering for future reference if there was anyway to check without guessing.
