Finding the right monitor

So I decided im going to build a computer. But now need a monitor. I need one from best buy. But im not sure how to look for one. Will they all have the same cord that connects to the computer? This is my build (I didn't make it. Its a custom known for its good performance and price)

But if you have a good monitor in mind (from best buy) please tell me. My budget is about 200.
 
Your best bet is to go and see what they have on display. I personally like LG, great monitors. Other people will tell you Samsung, Acer etc. But your best to let your own eyes be the final judge. Why are you only limited to Best Buy?
 
Oh I see. What are you using your computer for? Does the resolution matter to you? And the most common connection used now a days is DVI, some monitors have HDMI but there is no difference in picture quality. The only thing that HDMI does different is it can carry an audio signal as well as video but there aren't that many monitors that come with attached speakers. And almost every new monitor will come with a DVI cable in the box.
 
I'll be using it for a game. Guild wars 2 to be specific. What so you mean about the audio? I won't be able to hear anything if i don't pick the right monitor?
 
Do you have seperate speakers?

As long as you do you'll not need to worry about whether or not you'll be able to hear anything from your monitor.

If you want to use integrated you can either run a 3.5mm cable into the back of the monitor from your soundcard, or use audio over HDMI.

Having a HDMI monitor is good if you'd like to add additional devices to it, like a TV box or something. If not then DVI is perfect!
 
Well im building my own computer. Scroll to the top, i posted everything im putting in it. I believe one of those are speakers. So the audio would come from the computer right?
