firefox 2.0

I have downloaded Firefox 2.0 and when I click on the icon, nothing happens. I went to the folder and clicked on the Firefox.exe and the same thing. To make matters worse....now I cannot delete it or uninstall thru control panel. I even did a search and tried to delete from that window. I get a flag saying I must close FireFox in order to continue the uninstall. I have no programs open. I have two hard drives and I downloaded Firefox 2.0 and installed it into program files of 'D' drive. Original FireFox is in 'C' drive. Same scenario. I was using an earlier version of Firefox and it worked like a charm. But once I downloaded and installed FireFox 2.0 nothing works, cannot uninstall either program from either drive....HELP..

This happens sometimes, hit ctrl+alt+del once to open the task manager, then go to the processes tab, the look for the firefox.exe task. click on it then hit the "end process" button. then try opening FF again.
