Firefox acting weird after upgrade

Hi all. I just upgraded my Firefox to latest version 3.5.7.

It works, but it acts strange. For example my webmailnotifier addon down in the statusbar is gone, also all other addons with icons in the statusbar is gone.

When I go to tools I get lots of blank rows in the menu.

I googled the problem and got a link to this forum. The thread in here told me to delete the dwmapi.dll file. I have searched for this file but it is not on my PC.

I have also tried to remove Firefox using controlpanel and reinstalled it without any luck. I kept my personal settings, like bookmarks, etc. since I thought that would not affect the problem.

I'm from Norway so please excuse my bad english.

have you updated all the add ons/ re-installed them since you upgraded firefox some of them may only work with certian versions of firefox

That's strange. When you uninstalled your Firefox did you delete the folder in Program Files?

Note: First save your bookmarks if you are going to delete the folder in Program Files.

ive had problems with it before and addon's gone. this worked for me.

goto the directory and delete extensions.cashe, extentions.ini and extenstions.rdf. restart firefox. it will rebuild these files.

Actually i had backed up with mozbackup freeware. good for Mozilla and Thunderbird. did work though. and i use a swoop of addon's. they all worked.

forgot about that. thats true. ya might be able to get an update from the website for the pluggin. a few ive had just won't work with an updated ver.

Even if he upgraded from a older version he at least will have few add-ons working ( if he has a lot installed ). Because when you upgrade to a newer version most of the add-ons have available updates that show automatically the next time you start your fresh new version of Firefox.

Even if they dont have updates and they dont work on the newer version of Firefox, they are supposed to show at least in the "add-ons" menu folder.
