Firefox doesn't show mouse overs and other effects

Hello
I was working on my site and noticed that when I do a mouse over so that pic changes or so that a small text box appears it doesn't do it on firefox but does in Internet Explorer. Also when clicking a link then coming back to that page the link text changes color on IE but not on firefox.
Can firefox be set up to do this and how?

Have you defined any attributes concerning the color of the link (link="#******", vlink="#******", alink="#******")?
 
It always changed automatically. I don't necessarily need it but wonder if firefox just doesn't do the color change.
