Firefox: how do I stream windows media and quicktime files?

Hi - 2 streaming questions. One deals with wmv files and the other with quicktime.

Question 1
In firefox, whenever I click on a .wmv link to stream, a window pops up and I select to open with windows media player. Then instead of streaming, it starts to download it to a temp folder and once the download is done it will open WMP and play the clip.

How can I set it up so that it just streams it like in Internet Explorer? There is works fine, but I prefer to use firefox.

I found this info about it and tried it. It does work, in terms of streaming, but it won't automatically stream. It will first ask me what I want to do with that file and then I have to select the choice to stream it (even though the check mark is set on "always do this with this kind of file"). Is there a way to do it so it will automatically stream without asking me anything?

Question 2
How can I set it so that .mov or .mpg files (which currently open using quicktime) stream using the external QT player instead of the installed plugin?

Wow, no responses? I thought avid firefox lovers would jump at explaining this one. Maybe if I "threaten" to go back to IE the responses will flood in. LOL, I'm still sticking with firefox.... I think.... hmm..... :D
