Firefox keyboard shortcut - tabbed browsing

When I type a website in the address bar and press enter, as most firefox users know the link is opened in the current tab. Is there any key combination to make it open the link i type in a new tab?

The way I do it is sort of annoying: CTRL+T (to create a new tab), click in the address bar, type the address, enter.

Mistake!!!
CTRL+ALT+Enter is for adding www. and .com (if not added) and open in a new tab. I tried on a .org website and the address firefox tried to open was 'www.blahblahblah.org.com'.
It's in fact ALT+Enter

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. That makes sense - since CTRL + Enter always puts the www.****.com around what you type, and Shift + Enter puts www.****.net around what you type.
ALT + Enter will open it in another tab, and if used with CTRL or Shift, if will add the corresponding web address around what you typed.

By the way, does anyone now how to change it so that Shift + Enter will add something else instead of .net? (for example .org or others)

I usually use CTRL+Enter to open site in new tab which have .com, just we need to type the address and press CTRL+Enter and for .org Shift+CTRL+Enter.
