firefox problem after upgrading to 1.0.3

everything was working before the upgrade, now it wont connect. i tried system restore and also uninstalled all previous version and reinstalling but same problem. internet explorer works though. wonder what could be the problem. everything after i reinstall firefox internet security will prompt to allow access or not i always allow acess from all ports but it still wont connect. hmmm... :mad:
 
I had a similar problem. I tried to upgrade to 1.0.3, but it wouldn't let me. I un-installed Firefox, then reinstalled 1.0.3. Works fine as of now. But you allready said you un-installed and then reinstalled, so I am not quite sure.
 
I had this problem and I threw a right old spazz :P; HOWEVER I found a solution:

You just hit the nail on the head, so to speak. The problem is that you internet security is restricting the browser's access to the internet.

What internet Secturity do you have? I have norton and I went on:
Personal Firewall > Programs tab > Manual Program Control > find Firefox in the program list and set it to Permit All.
That should get it working :D
