Firefox & Profiles.

I've been trying to get 3 different firefox installs that are installed into different directories to work independently & not share any info. I've come to the conclusion that profiles will do this for me, however the only problem is making them primary browser so links open up in that specific browser.

I currently use -p in my main firefox profile & -p -no-remote in my 2nd & 3rd & i have 3 profiles to go with each. Now what happens is, i have each firefox loaded up onto there own profile. I select my main firefox as default browser & that works, but if i set any of the other 2 as default browsers it dosnt register or something as all links keep opening up in my main browser, even though i have the other 2 open & 1 of them set as default.

Can anyone help me with this?

The main reason is because i use Imacro's for various things & i want to speed things up by doing multiple tasks on the same site i use. However if i log in on 1 browser & then again on the other its already signed in & i want to use different accounts hence the need for different profiles :D.

Thanks

Hmm... I'm not entirely sure what you're asking (or why you need so many copies of Firefox :P) but have you considered some kind of profile manager or something? Or, I'm not sure right off how to do so, but I'm sure you could have individual folders dedicated to each install for the profiles.

only profile manager i know of is what comes with firefox u open with cmd prompt.

I would like a profile set as default for each firefox install but i dont know how. Ive spent some time on google trying to find out & all they come up with is the manual profile selection. Everything works fine if i want to open up each firefox & manually select profile & click bms or type the links in i need into each one. However i have some software that loads into an account using user/pw & it has open in browser option & it performs specific tasks on that specific account. However i want to be able to use 3 accounts at the same time but that means i need 3 web browsers with the imacro plugin & since firefox is the only one that works best it has to be firefox.

But the open in browser continues to open in my main firefox profile when all 3 are open.

Now without using -no-remote & use just -p it dosnt select diff profiles on load if theres already a profile selected. so my 2 other ff install shortcuts need to use them both & my main just uses -p.

There has to be a way but its eluding me lol & i know it may seem pointless or strange to you, but the need to have it do what i want is important for the things i use & do on them.

I just looked around and there are add-ons for profile managers. I've never tried them so I wouldn't know which are better, but you may want to try some.

yeah i found one, but the -P "FireFox1" & -P -no-remote "Profile Name" in my shortcuts load up without selecting manually the profile. But all links open up in the main firefox profile that just uses -p FireFox1 in its shortcut..

They has to be a way to be able to set any one as my default browser while having all 3 loaded up & have links open in the selected browser.
