greetings,

...can e-mail be sent through firefox and does it have that capability? also, when someone sends you an e-mail can an ip address be extracted from it to determine from where it came from and if so, is there a site that i can "plug-in" that ip address and trace it back?........thanks!

@da mail man:
1. I don't think Firefox can send email because it's a webbrowser, not a email client.
2. The IP extracted from email, is IP from mail server of the email provider. You can track it back by using the website www.ip2location.com .
Regards.

ok, thanks for the reply however, moreso what i needed to know is HOW can i extract the ip address for an e-mail received?

@da mail man: you can extract ip from email only if email provider permits you to do that. For example with yahoo mail, in your options, you can set that you want to see long header or short header. With long header, you cann see the IP of mail server of the sender.

You can send email through Firefox if you use web-mail services, like Yahoo mail etc. As a proper email application, they have Thunderbird.
